Skills Training is one of four main components of a comprehensive Dialectical Behavior Training program. This three-morning program will introduce the current research and guidelines for use of DBT skills with specific populations, in individual and/or group settings, and as part of a comprehensive DBT program or as a stand-alone treatment intervention. Each of the four modules of DBT Skills will be described relative to the goals of the unit, skills included, and when to introduce optional skills. Also addressed will be the recommended structure of group treatment and how to intervene in the event of therapy interfering or therapy destroying behaviors. Participants will learn via lecture, modeling, and experiential exercises.
