Virtual training via Zoom
October 1 - 3 from 8:45-12:00pm
A virtual link and handouts will be emailed to the registration address the day before training.
Originally developed for the treatment of Borderline Personality Disorder in an outpatient setting, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) has now shown effectiveness in 60 Random Controlled Trials (RCT’s) across additional contexts, for increased populations, and at substantial cost savings to communities over “treatment as usual”. Research and clinical success has resulted in an explosion in the popularity of this treatment.
Informal adaptations to the DBT model have also proliferated as agencies with limited funding for formal training and staffing respond to competing demands to provide high quality treatment and to serve a large population. Concerns about the effectiveness of these simplified adaptations has become an important issue to consumer groups and to those who fund this service.
This introductory training will provide overview of DBT Individual psychotherapy: structure, function, and processes.
Who should attend?
This training is open to providers of all training levels in mental health settings. Certificates of attendance will be provided for those who attend the full training. Certificates of attendance with number of contact hours will be provided to all participants at dbtmo.org. CEU's will be provided for those attending on behalf of the Missouri Behavioral Health Council through a Missouri Mental Health Center/CCBHO.
